Who can use POS features?

Any signed-in club user with access to Point of Sale can open the Overview, Till, and Sales screens. POS Settings (outlets, products, categories, modifiers, and so on) is limited to club administrators. If you cannot see Settings, ask your club admin to adjust your role.

Follow this order: (1) Go to Point of Sale → Settings → General and turn on Enable Point of Sale, then save. (2) Add at least one outlet under Outlets (for example Club Shop or Main Bar). (3) Optionally create categories to organise products. (4) Add products with names, prices, and photos. (5) If items need sizes or add-ons, set up variants, modifier groups, or option sets, then link them to products. (6) Open Point of Sale → Till, choose an outlet, and start taking orders.

How do I turn POS on for my club?

Open Point of Sale → Settings → General. Switch on Enable Point of Sale, optionally add receipt header and footer text, then click Save Changes. On mobile, Save is a full-width button at the bottom of the screen. Until POS is enabled, your club may not fully use till features.

How do I add an outlet?

Go to Point of Sale → Settings → Outlets and click Add Outlet (desktop) or the + button in the top bar (mobile). Enter a name, choose a type (Shop, Bar, Restaurant, or Other), add an optional location note, and set Active on. Staff must pick an outlet on the Till before selling. If you only have one active outlet, it is selected automatically.

How do I add a product to the till?

Go to Point of Sale → Settings → Products and click Add Product. On the Basic side, enter the name, price, optional SKU, category, and outlet scope (All Outlets or one outlet). Add a photo if you want it on till tiles. Set Sort Order so important items appear first (lower numbers show earlier). Keep Active on, then save. Inactive products or products scoped to another outlet will not appear on the wrong till.

What are product categories for?

Categories help you organise products in POS Settings (for example Drinks, Food, Merchandise). You can scope a category to all outlets or one outlet. The till shows active products in a single grid sorted by each product's sort order, not category tabs, but categories still help admins manage large menus.

What is the difference between variants, modifiers, and option sets?

Variants are fixed sizes or styles of one product with their own price (for example Pint vs Bottle of lager). Modifier groups are reusable add-on choices for specific items (for example burger toppings). Option sets are shared choice groups you link to many products (for example Size on all hot drinks). Create modifier groups under Settings → Modifiers and option sets under Settings → Option Sets, then link them on each product under Modifier Groups and Option Sets.

How do I create modifier groups?

Go to Point of Sale → Settings → Modifiers and click Add Modifier Group. Name the group (for example Toppings), set min and max selections, and mark Required or Auto Prompt on Till if staff should always choose. Add options with names and optional price adjustments (+£). Save the group, then open each product that needs it and link the group under Modifier Groups. Modifier groups cannot be created from inside the product form; create them on the Modifiers screen first.

How do I create option sets?

Go to Point of Sale → Settings → Option Sets and click Add Option Set. Name the set (for example Size), choose Single Choice or Multiple Choice, set selection rules, and add options with optional price adjustments. Turn on Auto Prompt on Till when staff should be asked at checkout. Save, then link the set on relevant products under Option Sets in the product editor.

How do I use the till?

Open Point of Sale → Till (or Open terminal from Overview). Select an outlet if prompted. Tap products to add them to the current order. Use + and − on each line to change quantity, or Clear to discard the order and start again. When the order is ready, click Take Payment. Changing outlet clears the current order and loads products for the new location.

What happens when a product has variants?

When you tap a product with variants, a Choose Variant dialog opens (for example Pint or Bottle) with each price shown. Pick one to add it to the order. If the product also has modifier groups or option sets with Auto Prompt on Till, the customize step opens after you pick a variant. Products with variants may show a From price on the till tile based on the lowest active variant price.

How do staff pick toppings or options on the till?

When a product has linked modifier groups or option sets with Auto Prompt on Till enabled, a Customize dialog appears after you tap the product (or after choosing a variant). Required groups are marked. Options with a default are pre-selected. Adjust choices, then click Add to Order. Selected options appear under the line item in the cart and their price adjustments are included in the line total.

How do I complete a sale?

Add at least one item to the cart, then click Take Payment. The order is marked paid and the cart clears for the next customer. Card and split payment options are not available on the till screen yet; completed sales are recorded as cash. Receipt header and footer text can be configured under POS Settings → General for when receipt printing is available.

How do I view sales history?

Open Point of Sale → Sales. Summary cards show total sales, transaction count, and average order for the selected date range (Today, 7 days, or 30 days) for paid orders. Filter by status if you need drafts or other states. Click or tap a row to open order details with line items, subtotal, tax, and total. On mobile, summaries scroll horizontally and orders appear as a card list.

How does tax work for POS sales?

You can set an optional Tax Rate (%) on each product. Tax is calculated when an order is completed and appears in Sales order details. POS Settings → Tax & Pricing shows the default VAT rate but full club-wide tax configuration is still being expanded. If a product has no tax rate set, no tax is applied to that line at checkout today.

Can I use POS on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The till and sales screens work in the mobile browser with the same workflow. POS Settings on mobile uses the More menu → POS Settings hub instead of a sidebar: pick a section (Products, Outlets, and so on), then use the + button in the top bar to add items. Lists appear as tappable cards rather than tables. Save buttons for General settings sit at the bottom on mobile.

Why are no products showing on the till?

Check that you selected the correct outlet, that the outlet is active, and that products are active and scoped to that outlet or All Outlets. Inactive products are hidden. If you have no outlets, add one under POS Settings → Outlets first. If products were just added, refresh or re-open the Till so the catalog reloads.

Why can I not see POS Settings?

POS Settings is restricted to club administrators. Staff can use the Till and Sales but cannot edit outlets or products. Ask a club admin to make changes or to grant you admin access if appropriate for your role.

Can I print receipts or connect a card reader?

Accepted Answer

Receipt header and footer text can be set under POS Settings → General. Dedicated hardware settings for card readers and receipt printers are marked coming soon in POS Settings. Till payment is cash-only in the app today. For urgent hardware needs, contact support to discuss your setup.
